FASTENER BAND FOR ATTACHING A SEAT COVER TO A CUSHION
SEAT OF A CAR
Field of the invention
The present invention generally relates to an obliquely collapsible fastening strip for attaching a seat cover to a seat cushion of a car.
Context of the invention
Traditionally, a manufacture of a seat cushion in a car involves injecting foam material into a mold designed in advance to form a seat cushion in a desired shape. In addition, after forming the seat cushion, a cover must be applied to the seat cushion to cover it and give it an aesthetic appearance. In the past, for attaching a seat cover to a seat cushion of a car, steel wires were mainly used as fasteners and it was a tedious and cumbersome process that could easily permanently damage the cushion. seat.
In order to ameliorate the aforementioned drawbacks of the conventional method, recent approaches have hook straps in the seat cushion for engagement with buckle elements provided on the seat cover to secure the seat cover. seat to the seat cushion. Specifically, during the formation of the seat cushion, fastening straps are placed at predetermined locations in the mold designed in advance and then the foam material is injected into the mold, thus the fastening straps are integrated into the cushion seat at the desired locations.
Figure 1 illustrates an example of this fastening strap used in a seat cushion of a car. As shown in Fig. 1, the fastening strap 30 comprises a substrate 31 made of a material that allows the foam material to penetrate the voids of the material, such as nonwoven fabric or fibrous tissue. This hook strap 30 further comprises a layer of magnetic material 32 applied to the substrate 31 and an engaging member 40 connected to the layer of magnetic material 32. The engaging member 40 has a plurality of hooks 43 formed on the latter to form an engagement face. In addition, the substrate 31 has two longitudinal sidewalls 33, each formed along the sides of the engaging member 40 and having a height greater than a height of the hooks 43, to prevent the foam material from forming. enter the spaces between the hooks 43 during a foam introduction process of a seat cushion manufacture.
Another example of this fastening strap used in a seat cushion of a car is shown in FIG. 2. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the fastening strap 50 comprises a substrate 51 and a fastening element 60 having hooks. 63 trained on the latter. Instead of having two side walls of protection, this fastening strap 50 comprises a protective layer 70 which is fixed directly and detachably on the fixing element 60 and covers the hooks 63 in order to fulfill a protective function for preventing the foam material from entering the spaces between the hooks 63 during the foam introduction process of a seat cushion manufacturing.
Although the aforementioned hook straps used in a seat cushion of a car can provide a function of attaching seat covers to a seat cushion, they have drawbacks and limitations of application.
For example, in addition to providing a comfortable seat for a passenger who sits there, there is more emphasis on the appearance of car seats these days to match the interior design of a car to reveal characteristics of a specific make of a car and / or a specific model of a car. Thus, more than ever the design of a seat for a modern car consists of shapes with many different curvatures. However, the prior art fastening straps mentioned above can not bend or curl obliquely, they can only be used for seat cushions that have substantially straight attachment grooves. For seat cushions having curved attachment grooves, additional methods are required to allow the prior art fastening straps mentioned above to be applied. For example, additional cutting molds having specific bends which correspond to the curvatures of the curved securing grooves of a specific seat cushion to which the fastening straps are to be applied, must be developed to cut the fastening straps into shapes. having the desired curvatures. However, this is not cost-effective because a specific cutting mold for a curved mounting groove of a seat cushion needs to be developed, and if there are several curved mounting grooves of different curvatures in a seat cushion. seat, then it takes several different cutting molds to cut the fastening straps into the desired shapes. Thus, the applicability of the fastening straps of the prior art is limited.
Therefore, there is a need, in a seat cushion of a car, for a fastening strap that can provide a strong connection between the fastening strap and the seat cushion, and can bend or curl obliquely for can be applied to seat cushions having straight and curved attachment grooves without additional processes. Summary of the invention
Taking into consideration the aforementioned drawbacks / problems associated with existing attachment straps used in a seat cushion of a car, an object of the present invention is to provide a fastening strap used in a seat cushion of a car so that the design of a car seat has significantly less contour limits than before and is easier to use and more cost effective.
According to one embodiment of the present invention there is provided a fastening strap which comprises a plurality of serially connected fastening sections, each of the fastening sections comprising: a substrate having a plurality of hooks formed on its surface; at least one magnetic element disposed on the surface of the substrate; a protection member disposed along a periphery of the substrate for encircling the plurality of hooks; and a flexible connecting portion extending integrally from one end of the substrate in a longitudinal direction of the securing section to connect to an adjacent securing section spaced apart.
The connecting portion has a height t and a width w and the height is greater than the width, i.e., t> w. In addition, the protection element has a height measured from the surface of the substrate which is greater than a height of the hook which is measured from the surface of the substrate. The attachment section further includes wing portions that extend outwardly from the lateral sides of the substrate respectively. Other features and advantages of the present invention will emerge more clearly from the description of the present description with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Brief description of the drawings
For a more complete understanding of the present invention and its advantages, reference will now be made to the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic sectional view illustrating a webbing strap structure of FIG. prior art used in a seat cushion of a car; Figure 2 is a schematic sectional view illustrating another prior art fastening strap structure used in a seat cushion of a car; Figure 3 is a schematic perspective view showing a fastening strap for attaching a seat cover to a seat cushion of a car according to an embodiment of the present invention; Figure 4 is a top plan view of the fastening strap shown in Figure 3; Figure 5 is a schematic sectional view taken on the line A-A of Figure 4; and Fig. 6 is a schematic perspective view showing a fastening strap according to another embodiment of the present invention.
Detailed description of the invention
Reference is now made to FIGS. 3 to 6, in which the preferred embodiments of the fastening strap of the present invention are illustrated to describe the present invention.
Figure 3 is a schematic perspective view illustrating a fastening strap 10 for attaching a seat cover to a seat cushion of a car according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 is a plan view from above of the fastening strap 10 shown in FIG. 3. FIG. 5 is a diagrammatic sectional view taken on the line AA of FIG. 4. FIG. 6 is a schematic perspective view showing a fastening strap 10 'according to another embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the fastening strap 10 of the present invention comprises a plurality of fastening sections 20 connected in series. Each of the attachment sections 20 comprises a substrate 21 having a plurality of hooks 22 formed on its surface; at least one magnetic element 23 disposed on the surface of the substrate 21; a protective member 24 disposed along a periphery of the substrate 21 to encircle the plurality of hooks 22; and a flexible connecting portion 25 extending integrally from one end of the substrate 21 in a longitudinal direction of the securing section 20 to connect to a series-adjacent fastening section 20 so that the adjacent securing sections 20 are spaced apart by a distance S.
In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5, the at least one magnetic element 23 comprises two steel wires. However, it should be understood that the magnetic element 23 is not limited thereto. For example, the magnetic element 23 may comprise a magnetic coating or other magnetic element which is applied to the substrate 21. In addition, in the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5, the protection element 24 is made with a foam material and is fixed on the substrate 21 along its periphery. However, it should be understood that the protection element 24 is not limited thereto. For example, the shield member 24 may comprise a wall (not shown) that extends upwardly from the surface of the substrate 21 along its periphery to encircle the hooks 22. In addition, the 24 has a height H which is greater than a height h of the hooks 22 to prevent the foam material from entering the space among the hooks 22. In addition, as seen from the drawings, the connecting portion 25 has a height t and a width w and the height is greater than the width, that is to say t> w, to ensure both the robustness and flexibility of the connecting portion 25.
Next, reference is made to FIG. 6, in which a fastening strap 10 'for attaching a seat cover to a seat cushion of a car according to another embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. The fastening strap 10 ', similar to the fastening strap 10 of Figures 3 to 5, comprises a plurality of serially connected fastening sections 20', in which each of the fastening sections 20 'comprises a substrate 21, a plurality of hooks 22 formed on the substrate 21, at least one magnetic element 23, a protective element 24 and a connecting portion 25. The fastening strap 10 'further comprises lateral wings 26 extending outwards from the lateral sides of the substrate 21 which allow the foam material to cover these side wings 26 during the foam introduction process of the seat cushion to provide the additional mechanical bonding force between the fastening strap 10 'and the seat cushion and to improve the connection between the fastening strap 10 'and the seat cushion. In addition, as illustrated in Figure 6, in addition to a continuous configuration (for example, the side wings 26), the side wings may have a discontinuous projection configuration (for example, the side wings 26 ').
Since the fastening strap of the present invention comprises the unique structural features described above, the fastening strap of the present invention has a function / benefit that existing prior art fastening straps do not have. i.e., the fastening strap of the present invention can be arbitrarily folded / obliquely curved). Therefore, the fastening strap of the present invention is not only applicable to seat cushions having straight linking grooves, but also to seat cushions having curved connecting grooves with different curvatures and different curvature orientations directly and without additional process. Therefore, the fastening strap of the present invention is a creation that has considerable industrial applicability.
Although the present invention has been described above according to its preferred embodiments, it is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention to the specific structural features described above. In fact, there are various modifications and variations in the principle and spirit described below. For example, in the embodiments described above, the securing sections are illustrated in a form with a rectangular shape, however the securing sections may have other shapes, for example, the securing sections may have a shape semi-circular.
